Pastor Bob Is Going to be On the Radio!
AM 950 WTLN will be broadcasting the Pastor’s message from today’s service one week from today at 2 p.m. on the “Church of the Week” program. Our Pastor will also be participating in an interview discussing the service and our church during the same broadcast.
Tuesday with Tiffany, a Women's Bible Study on Tuesdays at noon
All women, members and friends of the church are invited to join Tiffany on Tuesday as we discuss women of the Bible. We will focus on the women who don’t get much attention, explore their stories, and discuss their significance. Bring your lunch and join us at noon on Tuesdays in room 103. World Peace Bi-weekly Prayer Meeting on Wednesdays
The Presbyterian Women have begun a special prayer meeting to pray for World Peace. The women will meet every other Wednesday morning at 9 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall, for an hour of prayer. All women are invited. If you have any questions, contact Eansa at 407-656-3154.
Beth Moore Bible Study, on Wednesday evenings
The Beth Moore Women's Bible Study meets on Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the Parlor. This study is a 7-week class and will end on Wednesday, May 21. We will be using Beth's newest study, "Stepping Up: A Journey Thru the Psalms of Ascent" and explore the major feasts of Israel and journey with Beth through Psalms 120 to 134. This in-depth look at these 15 Psalms will allow participants to pray, reflect and write a personal rendition of these ancient choruses. Themes such as unity, joy and gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule and more will be explored. Student books will be available at the April 9 class at a cost of $15. All women of the church and friends are invited. Scrapbooking Class on May 9
The class on scrapbooking continues this Friday, at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. They meet on the second Friday each month for those who are interested. For more information, please call April Jenkins (407-654-1277).
West Orange Habitat 5K Run/Walk Scheduled for May 10
The West Orange Habitat for Humanity 5K Race will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 8:00 a.m., starting and ending at Oakland Presbyterian Church. Registration forms are available at the church office or on their website (www.woh4h.org).
Youth to Host Parents’ Night Out on May 10
As a service to all the moms (and dads), the youth are hosting a parents’ night out on Saturday, from 5-9 p.m. in the CLC. We will have pizza, movies, games, and lots of other entertainment for your children (potty trained through age 10) while you enjoy a night out. The cost is $15 per child and $10 per sibling with a max of $30 per family. Please sign up on the clipboard located on the table outside the church office. Women Will Celebrate PW Birthday on May 12
In celebration of the birthday of the women of the church, Oakland Presbyterian Women are holding their annual Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Luncheon on May 12 in the fellowship hall immediately following the 10:30 a.m. Bible study with Pastor Bob. On Sunday, May 18th, "Splash Bash Returns!" During the Sunday school hour, children of all ages are invited to participate in the wet, wild, and wonderful that took our Sunday school by storm last September. There will be water games and activities, plus a BIG surprise! Come prepared with towels because YOU will get wet!! (Please wear clothes that can get wet, or an appropriate swimsuit.)
