Congregational Care
Caring for the sick, the troubled, the grieving, and the hurting souls of
our commuinty is not just a good thing to do, it is the command of Christ.
At Oakland Presbyterian Church, our commitment to care for others is
expressed through a wide variety of minitries. Pastor Bob and the
deacons engage in an active ministry of care for our members and friends,
in addition to ministry by the staff, the session, and members of the congregation.
Hospital calls and visitation are made by Pastor Bob and the deacons,
who provide ministry to the sick and dying, and their families. The hospitals are
no longer able to notify us of our members who are hospitalized, so please
notify the church office at 407-656-4452 or welcome@oaklandpres.org
if you know that one of our church family members has been hospitalized.
Homebound and nursing home visitations are regularly made by the deacons.
Communion is taken to members that are homebound, in nursing homes or
hospitals each time that the congregation has communion. The deacons contact
these members to see if they wish to have communion, and arrange
for a time to visit with the member and bring communion.
