Why basketball?

Basketball continues to be America’s most popular team sport having nearly 40 million players nationwide.  More than 7.5 million 6-11 year olds participate in basketball nationally.

Why Upward Basketball?

 Parents desire to see their children have fun and be successful in every arena they may participate.  So why does this desire often turn into disaster when that arena is sports?  Athletics allow children to gain all the essentials we want for them: fun, improving skills, friendships, discipline, and many more. Studies show that 73% of kids quit playing sports by the  age 13 because it is no longer fun, and that is just not acceptable.  The primary focus of Upward is to develop the Winner in EVERY child, not just a few.  Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K5 through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.  It committed to helping children develop spiritually, physically, mentally and socially through sports.
