We are located in the historic town of Oakland, Florida. That’s a quiet little area just west of Winter Garden and east of Clermont, in Orange County. Our church has a rich heritage that often parallels the development of this town, which grew up as the citrus industry grew and the railroads were being built in Central Florida. Interested people worshiped together in various homes in the area until the church was formally organized in 1887. Although we have been around for some time, we still have that sense of community, and welcome all who find themselves settling into the rapidly developing areas of West Orange and South Lake counties.

We are a congregation of people united by the love of God, and we strive to demonstrate this through our caring for one another. Our greatest desire is to reach out and touch the lives of people with the love of Jesus Christ. To prepare for this mission, we gather in worship to be strengthened by the presence of the Holy Spirit, we learn by studying God’s Word, we care for each other and those around us, we pray for each other and our community, we serve others under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and we join together in Christian fellowship.

The Oakland Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., and a member of the Central Florida Presbytery. The word Presbyterian refers to our representative form of church government, not our reformed beliefs.

A brief statement of our faith: In response to the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we glorify God by proclaiming the Good News of His gospel, worshiping and praising His name, studying His truth, caring for His creation, and nurturing His people.

We offer many programs and ministries to meet the needs of those in our congregation and the community. No matter what your circumstance in life, we have a place for you, in Christ’s family, at Oakland Presbyterian Church. We welcome you with open arms and loving hearts!
