Job Description: Property Manager (part-time, exempt)


General Description of the Work:


The Property Manager has responsibility for keeping the buildings and campus clean, in good repair and condition.



  • Previous experience in managing and maintaining similar kinds of property

  • Skill with cleaning, organizing and performing some maintenance and repairs

  • Physical strength to accomplish the work

  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and various pieces of equipment owned by the church

  • Ability to manage time and balance many tasks and follow through on assignment

  • Good people skills, with the ability to work with a variety of people



  1. Weekly cleaning and disinfecting of high-use areas in the facility and regularly scheduled cleaning of others (does include supervision of contract cleaning).

  2. Daily walk the perimeter of the building and campus and check all doors.

  3. Serve as the main contact with all maintenance service providers.

  4. Basic maintenance and repair, such as changing light bulbs, AC filters, small paint jobs, etc; and report major repair issues to the Property Committee and work with that committee in securing estimates and bids for such repairs.

  5. Order or purchase all materials needed for the building including supplies for the kitchens and bathrooms.

  6. Assist those who decorate the church during the holiday seasons by bringing the decorations out of storage and returning them when the season is over.

  7. Keep the garage as neat as possible and monitor the things that are stored therein.

  8. Attend staff meetings and meetings of the Property Committee.

  9. Schedule and coordinate building inspections.

  10. Relate effectively with other staff, members of the congregation, and the public including collaborating with other staff on special projects as able.

  11. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Property Committee or Pastor.


Hours and schedule:

This job averages 25 hours per week and paid $17 per hour. Additional hours, if needed, will be negotiated with the Property Committee and Pastor. The schedule will be negotiable, but it is expected the Property Manager will be on campus Monday through Friday at times when he or she may interact with other staff and church members.



The Property Manager shall be under the direct supervision of the Pastor and the Chairman of the Property Committee.
