SCHOLARSHIP

Each year with funding from anonymous donors, Oakland Presbyterian Church offers need-based scholarships to local graduates. This scholarship is for graduates of West Orange and South Lake County schools.

The undergraduate scholarship is equal to approximately $35,000, and covers 100% of the actual cost of tuition, books, and fees for in-state public universities. It can also be used for private or out-of-state schools.

 

Funding for full-time enrollment is available for up to 5 years, and 8 years for part-time enrollment.

 

The funds are limited to students with a maximum annual income, for a family of four, of $114,935 during 2024.

 

The student must demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of completing post-secondary education.

 

The student must document previous active participation in school, church, and community volunteer activities.


Successful applicants must maintain a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).

 

CURRENT YEAR DEADLINE:

Applications must be completed, with all requested documents uploaded, and submitted by February 9, 2026.

Scholarships will be awarded in April of 2026.

Directions for completing the application:


Provide all the information requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered when awarding the scholarship.


When calculating the Anticipated College Expenses per year, google “cost to attend (your college)”. Each school provides estimates to help with budgeting for your educational expenses. It will be broken down into categories that closely match our request for information. Also include the amounts of grants and scholarships that you anticipate, as well as any financial assistance.


Upload the first page of the IRS Form 1040 Tax Return for 2024, for yourself and both of your parents.

Upload a one-to-two-page autobiography.


Upload a copy of your high school transcript, as of the date submitted.


Create and upload a document listing your participation in volunteer activities (through school, church, and community organizations), honors you have received, your participation in clubs or social groups, and any special talents or interests you may have.


Upload a resume showing all current and prior job experiences, including place of employment, dates of employment, job title and duties.


Upload a current photograph of yourself (about 2.5”x4”).


Upload three letters of recommendation from individuals (teachers, principal, advisors, minister, employer, or civic leader) who can speak to your academic ability, character, family background or economic status.
